Hi sweet friend,
I started writing this blog post this morning, but then realized I only had 15 extra minutes built into my schedule, so instead of writing the blog post, I decided to arrive early to my appointment and film some on-location content. This morning I had a showing on the calendar with a sweet family from Florida. They found me over either YouTube or my blog some months back, and we met during their first visit. But yesterday they flew in overnight, rented a Jeep, and met me in Bridgeland at a home they had been dreaming about, but had only seen online. Just in case you are curious, Bridgeland is a master-planned community in Cypress, Texas. So what was the result, and why am I telling you this?
Well, I used my iPhone to film videos for my Jo & Co. YouTube channel, and I sold a house. I vlogged my morning and then turned that into a big video. I toured the 4 model homes in that section and turned that into four videos. Lastly, I filmed two inventory homes and turned those into two videos. The end result was 7 new videos for my YouTube channel, which is 14 days of content with my content schedule of uploading one every other day. So in 4 hours, I made $13,770 which was really rooted in content created months or years ago. And then the unseen income I will see over the next 3 months – 12 months, well that can’t really be measured.
Content isn’t just planting one seed, and harvesting one piece of fruit. It is so much more. I am trying to think of a really good analogy for evergreen content. I don’t think there is an analogy that will do it justice. It really feels like magic. Maybe the best analogy would be rosemary. I feel like no matter how many times you go to the garden for rosemary, it is always producing.
Rosemary: A Hardy, Perennial Herb: Rosemary is a robust, evergreen herb known for its resilience and long-lasting nature. It thrives with minimal care, can withstand various climates, and continues to grow and provide its aromatic leaves year after year. Similarly, evergreen content is resilient to changes in trends or seasons. Once established, it requires little maintenance but continues to attract attention and generate revenue, much like rosemary consistently offers its flavorful leaves for culinary use.
Okey-doke, all silliness aside, I am not coming to you today to show you how important creating content is, but to just tell a story, and share a little bit about my life, before I share my latest video and podcast episode with you. In today’s video, I am talking about my real estate goals for 2024 that I am working on right now. And know, I didn’t get to where I am today without a few wake-up calls.
