Day 2 of 30 Freebies: Today’s freebie: Visualize Your Goals Lock Screen Canva Template – Link.

If one were to study this blog, underneath what appears to be research, opinions, and tips, one might see an evolution of my mindset and discoveries. It is easiest to write and talk about what we know. This is something I have learned and accepted. So what you see here, through freebies and blog posts, is the story of Jo & Coaching. I hope this information and knowledge takes you where it has taken me.

Friday I sat down to look at the last 30 days of my business on Instagram. The numbers read like this:

August 13th, 2023 to September 15th, so 2023
33 reels
2 posts
114 stories
6,438 accounts reached
9,146 impressions
6554 views
349 profile visits
19 external link taps
44 followers

The numbers don’t mean much to me, but I think it is best to always paint the whole picture. The biggest thing that came from the last 30 days was a much-needed revelation. One I almost had to pay $6000 to discover.

You are not creating content for yourself.

You are creating content for one person.

So that led me to create my client avatar. If you missed yesterday’s blog post, it is a must-read, and I am not just saying that. I really mean it with my whole heart, that if you are trying to tackle Instagram, you must read yesterday’s blog post, “The pieces to the Instagram puzzle.” You can read it here. I am really proud of that blog post and revelation.

About 4 or 5 days ago, something had settled in and was sitting in my heart. I didn’t know what it was, and I wasn’t sure what the weight meant, although I knew some type of gut feeling was about to surface. I had high expectations for 30 days of creating content via reels. The first 13 days were pretty difficult. I felt like I was pulling teeth to come up with anything that almost resembled a good idea. Luckily I also spent this time blogging, so that kept me sane. Then I decided to do a Q&A series, and that was a lot of fun. Recording that content was a lot easier. I think because I was “talking about what I knew”, but I was creating this content without anyone in particular in mind.

Fast forward to Thursday, it was the end of the night, and I was complaining to my husband. I told him I wanted to hire this coach, but she was really expensive, and he was a bit irritated with me. He didn’t think I needed a coach, and I knew what he thought, but the reason I came to him, is because every time I tell him what is in my heart, it is this whole process of figuring it all out. The realization is the one above, that I was creating content for myself. So in the final midnight minutes before we brushed our teeth and went to bed, I wrote this:

Hi. My name is Jo, and I have a problem. I like to help everyone. But they say the first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem. So here I am.

Then Friday, after homeschooling Lincoln, our 7-year-old son, I let him have some iPad time, and I grabbed some blank computer paper to “solve my problem”. Long story short, Emily was born.

If you don’t know me, hi, my name is Jo. I got my real estate license in 2015 while pregnant with Lincoln, working for an investor, with five other kids at home, while my husband traveled for 4-7 weeks at a time. Life was really different. Then about 5 years ago, I created my own boutique brokerage, and I haven’t looked back on creating the life of my dreams. I didn’t always have this beautiful work-life balance, but a little over 3 years ago, I was able to retire my husband, and we have been tackling life and all of its challenges together ever since. This summer I realized I wanted to help others to achieve what I have. So here I am, Jo & Coaching.

So today’s freebie is a visual goal planner. I have done a couple of these in the past, but this one is different. The ones in the past have been:

  • How you can plan and create your perfect day. – Link
  • Monthly Goal Planner Printable – Link.

For the next 30 days, I want you to have three goals. One should be for your business, one should be personal, and one should be environment-related. Mine for the next 30 days are:

  1. Business goal: 4 new coaching clients. (Wanting to gain a minimum of 20 new newsletter subscribers which will hopefully head to the 4 new coaching clients.)
  2. Personal goal: Lose 8 lbs. (I want to take four group exercise classes.)
  3. Environment: Gaining a friend in the business world. (Manifestation is going to be key here.)

So the template I am sharing is very basic, but I think it is very important. It is a lock-screen template for visualizing your three goals for the next 30 days. Below are two examples I made with the template. It is created in Canva, so you will be able to customize and personalize it.

The one on the left is my personal lock screen, and the one on the right is a random example.

You can get this Visualize Your Goals Lock Screen Canva Template here.

I cannot wait to see what you are about to accomplish. Don’t forget to screenshot this template in action, on your lock screen, then share, and tag me on Instagram!

So why is visualization important for goal setting?

For most people, the process of setting goals begins and ends with jotting down some desired achievements on a piece of paper. While this is a decent starting point, there’s a crucial step that many overlook: visualization. But what is visualization, and why is it so vital for effective goal setting? In this blog post, we will dive into the power of visualization and how it can help you transform your dreams into reality.

What is Visualization?

Visualization is the practice of forming a mental image or vision of what you aspire to achieve. It’s more than just daydreaming; it’s a focused, intentional exercise that involves engaging all your senses, emotions, and imagination to build a vivid mental picture of your success.

The Science Behind Visualization

Modern psychology and neuroscience offer a wealth of research supporting the effectiveness of visualization. When you visualize an activity, your brain generates an impulse that tells your neurons to “perform” the movement. This creates a new neural pathway that is primed and ready for the real physical activity. Essentially, your brain can’t tell the difference between a visualized experience and a real one, so it provides a kind of mental training ground for your future successes.

Why is Visualization Important for Goal Setting?

Clarifies Your Goals

When you visualize, you get a clear mental image of what you want to achieve, making your goals more concrete and attainable. This clarity can drive motivation and prepare your mind and body to execute the steps needed to reach your goal.

Enhances Motivation

The process of visualizing your goals can give you a preview of the emotions you will feel once you achieve them. The sheer joy, satisfaction, and sense of accomplishment in your “mental rehearsal” can serve as powerful motivation to propel you forward.

Builds Self-Confidence

Visualizing yourself achieving your goals can boost your belief in your abilities. When you’ve “seen” yourself succeeding in your mind’s eye, the goals start to seem not just possible, but probable.

Helps Overcome Challenges

When you mentally rehearse overcoming obstacles, you’re better prepared to tackle them in real life. You’ve already “experienced” the challenge and found a way to overcome it, making you more resilient and adaptable.

Enhances Focus and Discipline

Visualization encourages you to remain committed and maintain your focus on your goal, helping you set priorities and manage your time more efficiently.

How to Visualize Effectively

  1. Be Specific: The more detail you can include, the better. Imagine the setting, the people around you, the sounds, and even the smells.
  2. Engage Emotions: Allow yourself to feel the emotions you would experience when achieving your goal.
  3. Practice Regularly: Consistency is key. Make visualization a part of your daily routine.
  4. Combine with Other Techniques: Use visualization in conjunction with other goal-setting techniques like writing down your goals, setting deadlines, and creating action plans.

Visualization is not a magical process, but it is a powerful tool for goal setting. It enhances motivation, builds self-confidence, and prepares you for the challenges ahead. By making visualization a regular part of your planning process, you’re setting the stage for your own success. So close your eyes, picture your dreams in vivid detail, and watch as they turn into your reality.

If you need help with figuring out your goals, and how to incorporate visualization into the process, I am here for you. <3
